A well visit, often referred to as a physical, is your child’s annual checkup. During this important visit, our providers focus on various aspects of your child’s health, including growth, vaccinations, and addressing any concerns. Well visits are usually required for school, camp, and sports program eligibility.
Please schedule annual/well appointments two months in advance to ensure your preferred provider and a wider range of scheduling options, especially during the busy summer season for school and college-age kids. Our schedule is typically available up to three months in advance. View our well-child visit schedule for what to expect for your child’s age.
When your child is facing acute or chronic illness, a sick visit is your go-to. Schedule an appointment for the same day, and our team will promptly address your child’s health concerns. Call in starting at 8:00 am Monday through Friday to arrange a same-day sick visit.
Sick visits and sick follow-ups scheduled in advance (not same-day) are considered pre-booked. Canceling a pre-booked sick visit or sick follow-up without at least 1-hour notice may result in a $25 cancellation fee.
Many school teams require a sports physical to ensure your child is fit to participate in sports. If your child has already had their annual well visit, but needs documentation for sports, our quick sports physicals are tailored to meet this requirement.
For sports physicals, please bring the paperwork your school provides.
If you feel your child is having complex behavior or health problems that you would like to discuss with the provider, without your child present, please call to schedule a parent consultation appointment. A parent consultation is necessary prior to any ADD, ADHD, anxiety, and/or any other behavioral or mental health diagnoses.
Typically, we recommend scheduling your baby’s first visit within the initial week after birth. However, we encourage you to come in even sooner if there are any specific concerns. Newborn well-child visits begin at one month of age, and until then, we will see your baby at scheduled newborn follow-up visits
Our dedicated Lactation Consultant and Newborn Specialist, Barbara Cossman, RN, MN, IBCLC, PNP, serves both our Marietta and Kennesaw offices. Barbara is available to conduct the first office visit for newborns.
For more information, explore our newborn services.
We offer free online group prenatal visits via Zoom for both our Marietta and Kennesaw patients. This is an opportunity for expecting parents to meet our providers, learn about our practice, and ask any questions you may have. We’re here to support you on your journey to parenthood.
We offer virtual visits only under certain circumstances, like medication follow-up visits. If you are unsure whether or not your child’s condition qualifies for a virtual visit, please give us a call.
We do our best to accommodate your schedule and kindly ask that you cancel in advance to allow other patients to be seen. Fees apply for missed appointments or late cancellations.
